Where is the "Florida Gulf Coast" located?

The Middle section of the Gulf Coast is referred to as The Gulf Beaches of Tampa Bay.  It’s located on the West Coast of Florida, from Tarpon Springs in the North. Down to just across the Skyway bridge to Bradenton \ Sarasota in the South.

Which side of Florida has nicer beaches?

  The sand on the West Coast is softer and whiter, keeping it cool even when the sun is beaming on it. On the East coast, the sand is rougher and darker, which can make it uncomfortably hot to step on. However, if you prefer waves, The East coast has the bigger waves, but colder water.
